31 Schon lange arbeite ich mit dem SEEHAFEN KIEL zusammen und habe viele Projekte begleitet. Der Hafen ist immer ein spannen- des Thema und bietet unzählige Motive. Ich hätte Bilder aus dem Archiv nehmen können, dort liegen viele spannende Aufnahmen von großen Schiffen, Erstanläufen, GPS-gesteuerten Portalkränen, stimmungsvollen Reflektionen etc. Aber was ist das Besondere am Hafen, am Port of Kiel, wie ich ihn kenne. Was unterscheidet mei- nen Heimathafen von allen anderen Liegeplätzen der Welt, außer seinen Koordinaten? Natürlich die Menschen, die in diesemHafen arbeiten! Somit war für mich klar, dass ich neue Bilder machen möchte, ich möchte die Leute zeigen, die für den Erfolg des Kieler Hafens unverzichtbar sind. Hier imHafen gibt es noch Jobs für richtige Kerle, die ihr Herz auf der Zunge tragen, und für Mädels, die sich nicht scheuen, große Maschinen zu bewegen. Ich erzählte meinem Kollegen Bar- tosch Golembiewski von dem Projekt und er teilte meine Begeis- terung für diese Idee. Spannende Menschen, große Maschinen, Prime-Location, alles ohne kreatives Korsett. So begleitete er mich bei der Umsetzung. Ich wollte denMitarbeitern die Möglichkeit geben, sich in Szene zu setzen, mal imFokus zu stehen. Es war nicht ganz leicht zu ent- scheiden, welches Gewerk das wichtigste ist oder welcher Job am spannendsten ist. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter des SEEHAFENKIEL und deren Tochtergesellschaften hätte ein gutes Motiv abgegeben. I have been working with the PORT OF KIEL for a long time and have worked alongside many of their projects. The port always makes for an exciting topic and offers plenty of motives. I could have used photos from the archive, there are lots of exciting photo- graphs of big ships, launches, GPS controlled portal cranes, beau- tiful reflections etc. But what is so special about the port of Kiel as I know it? What differentiates my homeport from other berths around the world, apart from the geographical coordinates? It’s of course the people who work in this port! So for me it was obvious that I wanted to take new photos. I want to show people who are essential to the port’s success. Here at the port, you can find real jobs for true blokes who carry their heart on their sleeves, and girls who are not afraid to move big machines. When I told my colleague Bartosch Golembiewski of this project he was just as excited of my idea. Exciting people, big machines, and prime-location, everything without the creative corset. So he hel- ped me with the implementation. I wanted to give the employees the opportunity to stand in the spotlight. It wasn’t easy to decide which work was more important or which job was more exciting.
