Um Platz für die anderen im Ostuferhafen umgeschlagenen Güter, wie Holz und Stückgüter, zu schaffen, wurden Hal- len gekauft, erweitert und neugebaut. In Summe sind rund 35.000 Quadratmeter neue Lagerhallen hinzugekommen. Der größte Schuppen hat mit 18.000 Quadratmetern übrigens die zweieinhalbfache Größe des Volksparkstadions. Doch das ist längst nicht alles. Innerhalb des Terminals Ostuferhafen wur- de neben dem Containerbereich das sogenannte „Papergate“ geschaffen. An dieser Stelle registrieren sich ankommende Lkw zur Abholung. Dieser Bereich wird künftig auf das Hafen- vorfeld ausgelagert. Hier entsteht eine hochmoderne, Hafen- einfahrt mit Kennzeichenerkennung, Registrierung und Koor- dinierung. Sobald die Fracht bereitgestellt ist, fahren Lkw, die per SMS informiert und vom System freigeschaltet wurden, zur Beladung auf das Terminal. Exchange. Our company has grown enormously through the paper business. 80 new people have been emplo- yed in the paper sector only out of which 10 jobs are of the ad- ministrative kind – and we are still looking for new colleagues. When you grow that quickly, you have to adapt your structu- res. So we created young teams with flat hierarchies and areas of responsibility and we identified certain key users for the new systems. All of this contributed to more efficient proces- ses. At this point, we would like to thank SCA and Iggesund for the mutually beneficial cooperation and for developing these processes with us as partners and then living them. Terminal imprint. The terminal has changed and is still continuing to do so. Next to the two existing paper warehou- ses a new large shed (about 18,000 square metres) for paper handling along with two additional warehouses for the pur- pose of putting paper cassettes into a weatherproof location for interim storage immediately after unloading the ship have been built. In order to make room for the other goods handled in Ostuferhafen, such as timber and general cargo, other warehouses have been acquired, expanded or built from scratch. All in all, 35,000 square metres of new warehouse space has been created. By the way, the largest shed of 18,000 square metres is two and a half times the size of the Volkspark Stadium. But there is more. Inside the Ostuferhafen Terminal, the “Paper Gate” has been established next to the container area. This is where arriving trucks register in preparation for collection. This area will be relocated to the port apron in future. We will establish a state-of-the-art, port entrance including automatic processes for license plate recognition, registration and coordination. As soon as the cargo is ready for loading, the trucks will be marked as released in the system and will be automatically informed by text message that they can access the terminal.
